EXHIBIT ON VIEW OCTOBER 4, 2026–FEBRUARY 28, 2027: The Health Museum presents The Call Me Mother Experience, an immersive art and awareness initiative exploring the Black maternal health crisis through visual art, video interviews, short films and community-created works.

Black women in Harris County face the nation’s highest pregnancy-related death rate and are nearly four times more likely to die than white women. Sparked by a poem written by founder, curator and lead artist Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton during her miscarriage, the exhibition brings together artists and community stories to amplify lived experiences, educate audiences and encourage self-advocacy through art.
