EXHIBIT ON VIEW SEPTEMBER 24–NOVEMBER 20, 2026: Reissued Gallery presents “Red Sea: Fernando M. Díaz” featuring works by this multidisciplinary artist exploring ancient symbols and visual languages through a contemporary lens.

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, September 24, 2026 | 6–8 PM

Díaz’s work explores memory, history, migration, and the enduring power of symbols. In a recorded message from a 1,400-year-old archaeological site outside Rome, the artist reflected on the responsibility of younger generations of artists to preserve and transmit history through visual language.

For Díaz, art can serve as a bridge between past and present, carrying stories of displacement, survival, identity, and human resilience forward for future generations. These ideas inform Yam Suf (Red Sea), a mixed-media painting that draws upon the biblical Exodus and the crossing of the Red Sea as a centuries-old story of migration, survival, and passage.

“Red Sea” brings Díaz’s exploration of ancient messaging into the present, asking viewers to consider how symbols and stories survive across cultures, places, and generations.
