OPENING RECEPTION Sculpture Month Houston 10-Year Anniversary: Singular Visions at SITE Gallery of The Silos at Sawyer Yards

EXHIBIT ON VIEW OCTOBER 3 –NOVEMBER 21, 2026: Sculpture Month Houston celebrates its 10th anniversary with “Singular Visions” at the SITE Gallery of the Silos at Sawyer Yards.
This year’s exhibition demonstrates the wide diversity of art existing side by side in a mode of friendly competition. If there is an overarching theme, it might be an emphasis on the poetic sensibilities of art and artmaking, rather than becoming too entangled with social activism. Or perhaps it is the essential transformation of ordinary reality into a higher-order reality, consciousness, or whatever one likes to call it. After all, one of the driving forces of art is creativity and innovation.
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 6–9 PM
PARTICIPATING ARTISTS: Tom Bandage, Michael Bhichitkul, Christie Blizard, Steve Brudniak, Alton DuLaney, Jonathan Durham, Alicia Eggert, Tim Glover, Stephan Hillerbrand + Mary Magsamen, Beili Liu, Steve Murphy, Steve Parker, Gladys Poorte, Chris Powell, Margo Sawyer, Amy Scofield, Zulma Vega, Ed Wilson
Sculpture Month Houston started this adventure in 2016 with its inaugural exhibition, “From Space to Field,” presenting a truly avant-garde group of 200 installation artists from Houston, across Texas, Chicago, New York, and Mexico. Over the past decade, each exhibition has been organized around a central theme — a conceptual umbrella, unlike this year’s exhibition.
