EXHIBIT ON VIEW OCTOBER 3–NOVEMBER 21, 2026: Revólver Galería presents Field of Power, José Carlos Martinat’s first solo exhibition in Houston.

Born in Lima in 1974, Martinat is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores art, architecture, language, technology and public space. His work is held in collections including MoMA, the Guggenheim, Tate, MALBA and MALI.

OPENING RECEPTION: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 | 6–8 PM

Field of Power transforms electoral propaganda extracted from walls in Lima into works examining memory, erasure and political power. Presented from both sides, black fields cover the original propaganda while fragments of lettering remain visible on the reverse—turning the city wall into a record of what has been covered, changed or forgotten.

In Houston, the exhibition also draws a connection to Color Field painting, moving the idea of the “field” from the canvas into public space.
