EXHIBIT ON VIEW SEPTEMBER 26–OCTOBER 24, 2026: Front Gallery presents “Jake Dotson: Traveling waves generate standing waves through structural interference,” which explores the relationship between sound, ceramics, craft and the human body through an installation of ceramic instruments.

The exhibition’s title describes the physical process through which the instruments produce music while also serving as a conceptual prompt for artist Dotson’s exploration of waves, material and interconnectedness. Drawing on a multidisciplinary practice developed over several decades, Dotson considers craft not simply as a method of making, but as a way of understanding our relationships with technology, the body, other living beings and the world around us.
