EXHIBIT ON VIEW SEPTEMBER 17–OCTOBER 10, 2026: Rukaz Kultura presents “Herencia” at Flatland Gallery (next door to Brasil Cafe), a group exhibition featuring Latin American artists whose work explores the music, dance and cultural traditions passed down through generations.

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, September 17, 2026 | 7–9 PM

Curated by Elsa Mendoza, “Herencia” considers how inherited music and dance shape memory, identity and connection, from songs associated with family gatherings and important milestones to the playlists carried from childhood into adulthood. The exhibition celebrates the ways these traditions remain part of who we become.

Free public programming presented in conjunction with the exhibition will include Latin-focused workshops exploring vinyl archives, candle making, yoga, poetry and more.
