EXHIBIT ON VIEW OCTOBER 3–NOVEMBER 28, 2026: Redbud Arts Center presents African Figures: Expressions in Clay, the debut solo exhibition by Houston-based ceramic artist Pat Edwards.

Through her work, Edwards pays homage to African people and traditions while inviting viewers to consider the individual stories embodied by each figure.

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 6–9 PM

Working primarily with high-fired Black Mountain clay, Edwards creates large-scale figurative sculptures that celebrate African identity, heritage and individual character. Her expressive figures are distinguished by detailed facial features, textured hairstyles and head wraps, vibrant attire, ceramic jewelry, cowrie shells and other carefully rendered elements that give each sculpture its own personality and narrative.
