OPENING “Healing Arts: The Fatherhood Effect” at The Health Museum

PREVIEW RECEPTION – TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026 | 6–8 PM: The Fatherhood Effect explores fatherhood through the lens of art and public health, presenting visual works that reflect on how the role of fathers has evolved over the past three decades. Rather than focusing solely on fathers as providers, the exhibition emphasizes caregiving, emotional connection, and shared responsibility as essential aspects of family and community well-being. The exhibition features works by local artists selected through an open call and juried by community leaders and fathers including Mathieu JN Baptiste, Orissa Bey, Kara Crowley, Raquel Dao, Mark Francis, Raul Rene Gonzalez, Vicky Gooch, Lizz Gurrola-Maye, Belem Hooker, Alfiia Khusainova, Omari Maynard, Ruby Pinedo-Fear and Shelley Smolen.
EXHIBIT ON VIEW AUGUST 15, 2026–JANUARY 27, 2027
The exhibition is part of The Health Museum’s Healing Arts Program, an initiative that examines the intersections of art, medicine, and culture while creating space for dialogue, reflection, and healing. Through community engagement and creative expression, the program highlights how the arts can support healthier individuals and stronger communities.
