EXHIBIT “Dual Perspectives, Encounters of Worlds: Miguel Angel Ríos and Miguel Ángel Rojas” at Sicardi Ayers Bacino

EXHIBIT ON VIEW SEPTEMBER 19–NOVEMBER 14, 2026: Sicardi Ayers Bacino presents Dual Perspectives, Encounters of Worlds, bringing together works by Miguel Ángel Ríos and Miguel Ángel Rojas in the gallery’s Project Room.
Argentine artist Miguel Ángel Ríos (b. 1943) explores cartography, geography and competing worldviews. In Le premier voyage à l’inconnu, he dissects a 1500 map to examine European cartographic imagery in relation to Indigenous perspectives.
Colombian artist Miguel Ángel Rojas (b. 1946) works across conceptual and multimedia practices addressing identity, politics and the drug trade. In Machu Picchu (2013), he constructs the name of the Inca citadel from tiny pieces of U.S. dollar bills and coca leaves.
Together, the works create a dialogue around geography, power, history and perspective.
