WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2026 | 7–8:30 PM: Apollo Chamber Players perform Antonín Dvořák’s Domov muj (My Homeland) at the Czech Center Museum Houston. Tickets $0–$40 ($25 suggested).

Exploring the meaning of home and finding calm amid the cacophony of contemporary life, the program draws inspiration from Dvořák’s own search for belonging—from his retreat from New York City to a Czech-speaking community in Iowa to his eventual return home to Bohemia.

The program pairs a homecoming string quartet with Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs, including “Songs My Mother Taught Me,” and “Song to the Moon” from Rusalka. Featured soprano Alicia Gianni, an alumna of the Houston Grand Opera Butler Studio, performs with Matthew J. Detrick, violin; Anabel Ramirez, violin; Aria Cheregosha, viola; and Matthew Dudzik, cello.
