The inaugural MUSED Houston Fall Exhibits Guide puts a season of art in the palm of your hand.
Houston has a lot of art to see this fall. So much, in fact, that deciding where to begin can sometimes be the hardest part.
That’s why I created the first MUSED Houston Fall 2026 Exhibits Guide, a free pocket-sized checklist designed to help you get out and explore.
The guide brings together 60 exhibitions at 60 venues, including museums, commercial galleries, nonprofit arts organizations, university galleries and independent spaces throughout Houston. Rather than trying to include everything on view, I selected one exhibition at each venue as a starting point for discovering what Houston’s visual arts community has to offer this fall.
You may pick it up because of an exhibition you already want to see, and discover a gallery, artist or part of Houston’s art scene you didn’t know before.
SEE ART. CHECK IT OFF.
The idea is simple: put it in your bag, take it with you and start ARTING.
Check off exhibitions as you see them. Keep the guide in your car or tuck it into your bag for the next time you’re deciding where to go.
There’s also space to answer one of my favorite questions:
WHAT A-MUSED YOU?
Make note of an artist you discovered. A work you want to see again. A gallery you walked into for the first time. A conversation you had along the way.
The point isn’t necessarily to check off all 60, although I’d love to hear from anyone who does! It’s to spend a little more time experiencing the extraordinary amount of art being made, exhibited and shared in Houston.
WHY A PRINTED GUIDE?
MUSED Houston already publishes a weekly newsletter and online calendar filled with exhibitions, opening and closing receptions, artist talks, tours and other opportunities to engage with Houston’s art community.
But digital information moves quickly. An email disappears down the inbox. An Instagram post gets replaced by the next one.
I wanted to create something different: a physical companion for a season of looking at art.
Something you can hold. Fold. Mark up. Save.
And something that might encourage you to go somewhere you hadn’t planned to go.
MEET ME THERE.
The MUSED Houston Fall 2026 Exhibits Guide begins distribution September 30 and is free while supplies last. It was funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
I’ll have copies with me at select October art events. Follow @musedhouston to find out where I’ll be next and come pick up your free copy.
60 exhibitions. 60 venues. How many will you see?
SEE ART. CHECK IT OFF. GET A-MUSED.
